Government Cove Engagement | Cascade Locks, OR | Maki+Ryan
Where do I even start with this engagement shoot at Government Cove in Cascade Locks Oregon. Just past the Bridge of the Gods and just before Hood River. This whole area is honestly a photographers dream. Especially when it blesses us with the most amazing sunset I have ever seen. I remember during the last half of the shoot I was running around to try and grab as many different sunset photos as I could! It amazes me how I can go back here time and time again and capture something completely different for a couple. But most importantly something that is true to them. I reached out to this couple when I was still in the process of building up my portfolio. Then they ended up getting engaged a few days later! Definitely the right place at the right time. They brought two outfits along for the shoot to give them a little extra variety.
I started them out on the north side of the cove to get them moving and running around. I love starting an engagement session this way because it gets them both loosened up and it feels like you are not even on a shoot. They then changed into something a little more formal. I brought them to the west side of government cove to take in the views and felt it fit the attire they were wearing as well. These two have known each other for almost a decade and I would say it very much shows in their photographs. They both were so easy going and genuine! From beginning to end they were always in sync and in tune with each other. Words cant express how appreciative I am you let me capture this special moment in your lives and trusted me all the way through! Cheers to you both! Super excited to be capturing their wedding next year at Opal 28.
