Mount St. Helens Elopement | Francesca and Chris
When Francesca and Chris first reached out to me last year about capturing their Mount St. Helens elopement I knew they were my people! The funny story is Chris actually proposed at Mount St. Helens over the winter. We initially met over coffee downtown and talked about more of their elopement details. Everything just seemed to click. Fast forward nine months later and here we are capturing their elopement at Mount St. Helens. I met the bride and her closest friends and family in the parking lot at the bottom of the trail. She was pleasantly greeted with a note from the groom at the start of the two mile trail head. We started making the trek up, of course stopping for the occasional water break. To our surprise the groom had prepared two more notes on the way up. We finally reached the top of the ridge with a gorgeous view of Mount St. Helens. The groom had prepared a tent for her to get ready in on the side of the mountain. The ceremony was held on the edge of the ravine with Mount St. Helens as the backdrop.
Afterwards they shared a bottle of champagne and small snacks the family members had prepared. We then ran off down the mountain side and took more portraits of just them alone. We lucked out with the most gorgeous sunset and a low cluster of clouds moving in behind us. It was truly an amazing evening and I think it was everything they wished and hoped it would be. I am humbled they trusted me to capture their day. It’s evenings like these where you feel spoiled about being a photographer and to never take it for granted. Francesca and Chris I wish you both all the best in this next chapter and I promise I will keep my white kicks clean (inside joke). Thank you for letting me capture your Mount St. Helens Elopement. Cheers!
